David Bruns

Owner · Instructor Trainer

SSI Instructor Trainer · PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer · PADI & SSI Open Water Instructor · Specialty Instructor

David is the owner and operator of UnderSea Adventures and has been teaching diving at the shop for more than 20 years. Originally certified as a NAUI instructor in 1999, he added PADI in 2010, SSI in 2016, and became an SSI Instructor Trainer in 2018. He authored the Missile Silo Diver Distinctive Specialty Course and is a leading authority on the Titan 1 Missile Silo dives.

David offers instruction across every level from Open Water Diver to Instructor.

Deena Jones

Shop Manager · Instructor

SSI Open Water Instructor · SSI Specialty & Ecology Instructor · Full Cave Certified

Deena is the shop manager at UnderSea Adventures, handling day-to-day operations alongside David. As an SSI Instructor, she teaches across the certification path and brings a particular focus on marine ecology and conservation through her Ecology Instructor credential. She earned her Full Cave certification in 2025.

Malisha Small

SSI Open Water Instructor · Full Cave Certified

Malisha has been diving since 2015 and teaches as an SSI Instructor. She earned her Full Cave certification in 2022 and dives regularly in the Columbia River and Puget Sound using both backplate-and-wing and sidemount configurations.

Sean Holland

SSI Open Water Instructor · SSI Specialty Instructor

Sean teaches as an SSI Instructor at UnderSea Adventures. A licensed captain with a background in welding and marine work, he brings practical experience on and around the water to his diving instruction.

Jeff Kendrick

SSI Open Water Instructor · SSI Specialty Instructor · Full Cave Certified · UTD Sidemount Certified

Jeff teaches as an SSI Instructor with advanced technical credentials including Full Cave certification and UTD Sidemount certification. He specializes in sidemount diving and brings extensive overhead-environment experience to his instruction.

Josh Alms

SSI Open Water Instructor · SSI Specialty Instructor · DAN Instructor

Josh joined UnderSea Adventures in 2017 and teaches as an SSI Instructor. A Navy veteran certified since 1999, he holds DAN Instructor credentials and has logged dives across the Caribbean, Pacific, and Atlantic, with particular experience in wreck and warm-water environments.

Courtney Jones

SSI Dive Master

Courtney is an SSI Dive Master who supports the Titan 1 Missile Silo dive. He brings a passion for diving and a deep appreciation of the silo's unique place in history.
