PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer

PADI & SSI Open Water Scuba Instructor
PADI & SSI Specialty Instructor

David became a NAUI instructor in 1999, and has been teaching diving at USA for more than 20 years. In 2010 he became a PADI instructor, and in 2016 he also became an SSI instructor.  He was certified as an SSI Instructor Trainer in 2018.  He was the store manager at UnderSea Adventures for 4 years, but when his family began to grow, so did his income needs. (Fun jobs aren't always the best paying). After working another full time job and teaching classes in the evenings and weekends for 10 years, he came back and bought the shop from Gene.
Lately he has been doing the Titan 1 Missile Silo dives and teaching specialty classes. David was diving the Titan 1 Missile Silo so much that he wrote a Missile Silo Diver Disctinctive Specialty Course that he now teaches.
He lives in Pasco with his wife and 5 kids.
David teaches classes from Open Water Diver to Instructor.

Josh Alms
SSI Open Water Scuba Instructor
DAN Instructor
SSI Specialty Instructor

I grew up as a swimmer, in or around water my whole life.  Certified as scuba diver in 1999, while in the Navy diving as much as possible until reaching Divemaster in 2008.  I was able to dive around the globe, from quarries in Pennsylvania and Virginia, the wrecks of the Outer Banks, the crystal Waters of the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Hawaii and many others.  I joined the UnderSea Adventures team in 2017 as an Open Water instructor so that I could share my love of the ocean with others wanting to learn.  I really enjoy helping divers, new and experienced gain skills and knowledge that has been passed on to me by the mentors I have had.

Matt Wilson
SSI Assistant Instructor

Matt discovered scuba diving in the Virgin Islands in 2014 and has been hooked ever since.  He became an Assistant Instructor in 2018.  While he is a cold-water diver most if the time, he does really enjoy warm water diving when he gets the chance.  Matt enjoys working with students and witnessing the transformation from landlubber to scuba diver.  He is also fascinated by octopus and loves interacting with them on dives.

Jason Young
SSI Dive Master

I’m an underwater addict having fun as an SSI Divemaster and working to improve my skills. Primarily dive in the Columbia River and any other local waters I can find. I enjoy working with new divers and introducing them to the challenges and rewards of river diving.  Favorite dive is “Monument” at Lake Chelan. Most unique dive was the Trident Missile Silo.

Malisha Small
SSI Dive Master

Malisha is one of our Divemasters, and has been diving since 2015.  You can usually find her diving the Columbia River here most weekends with some occasional forays to Puget Sound. She is typically seen sporting her drysuit year-round with either a Backplate and wing, or sidemount setup.

Malisha's current interests include diving Cenotes, and she became Full Cave certified in 2022.  She is also working on her underwater photography skills and hopes to one day capture the ever elusive Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker.

If you are not quite ready to try Scuba, but would like to start exploring the underwater world, contact her through UnderSea Adventures to be your Snorkel instructor..
